INGREDIENTS

1 can of organic chickpeas or 2 cups of cooked chickpeas

2 tablespoons of tahini

3 tablespoons of olive oil

Pinch of salt and pepper

The juice of 1/2 lemon

Water as needed. (Star with 1/4- 1/2 cup, it depends on the power of your food processor or blender)

*Optional, you can add spices such as cumin or paprika, or add roasted pumpkin and spices for an alternative.

METHOD

1. Place all the ingredients in a blender/food processor and pulse until you get a creamy texture. You can stop and add more water as needed.

2. Store in a glass jar in the fridge. It lasts fresh up to 1 week.

NOTES

If you are using dry chickpeas, I recommend to soak them for 12 hours and then cook.

The secret ingredient is tahini! Some people might avoid it cause it is a common ingredient, BUT it gives the hummus the creamy texture and the delicious taste.
